Prerequisite.

1. You need to download the TWRP recovery from the following link. Here
2. A computer or PC

Installing TWRP Guide.

1. Once TWRP successfully downloaded, now move the TWRP recovery file to the desktop. Before move it, make sure you have created a new folder on the desktop.
2. Generally, TWRP image has the following name. (twrp-2.8.7.0-canro_2). Now, rename it to twrp.
3. To install TWRP recovery into your Xiaomi device you need to set your phone with the following step.
   • Go to settings
   • Tap About Phone
   • Now, tap MIUI Versions 7 times to unlock developer option.
   • Now, in developer options, you need to enable USB debugging.
4. Then, connect your phone to the computer via USB cable, now you will see the driver will start installing. Just wait for a second till the driver successfully installed.
5. Now, you can safely remove the USB cable from the computer. Then power off the Xiaomi phone.
6. Now enter fastboot mode. How to enter fastboot mode on Xiaomi device?
   • Press and hold volume down button + Power button at the same time.
   • Release all button when your Xiaomi phone enters fastboot mode.
7. Once your Xiaomi enters fastboot mode, now re-connect to the computer via USB cable again.
8. Then go to the twrp folder (new folder on the desktop)
9. From the TWRP folder, right click + hold shift to open command windows here.
10. From the command prompt, now type the following command to check your Xiaomi connect to the computer or not.

    • fastboot device

11. The cmd should return to show your device ID. If not, then you need to reinstall ADB drivers.
12. Then, type the following command to flash twrp recovery into your Xiaomi device, following with press enter.

    • fastboot flash recovery twrp.img

13. Now, you will see the twrp installation, it will take a few seconds.
14. Finish.

How to Boot into TWRP Recovery Mode.

1. Remove the USB cable from the computer.
2. Make sure your Xiaomi phone is power off.
3. Then, press and hold the following button.

   • Volume Up key + Power Button.

4. When the MI logo comes up on the Xiaomi screen, you must release all buttons.
5. Just wait a minute, then you will enter the TWRP recovery main menu.
